Logo Design:
I was given Portugal as the place to make a visitor's center/ tourist advertising center. Someplace that makes people want to come to Portugal and highlights some of its unique culture or locations.
Lisbon
Seven iconic hills overlook Lisbon's postcard-perfect panorama of cobbled alleyways, white-domed cathedrals and grand civic squares – a captivating scene crafted over centuries.
Douro Valley
One of Portugal’s most beautiful areas lies just east of Porto. Here, the meandering Rio Douro flows past towering hillsides covered by the steeply terraced vineyards that make up Europe’s oldest demarcated wine region. Whether you come by boat, train, or car to the Douro Valley, you’ll be rewarded with astonishing views at every turn, especially as you near the lovely village of Pinhão in the heart of the region.
The Algarve
Sunseekers have much to celebrate in Portugal. Along the south coast, the Algarve is famed for its gorgeous and varied coastline – you can either join the crowds on the people-packed sands at major resorts or find seaside peace on dramatic wild beaches backed by wind-carved cliffs. Days are spent playing in the waves, taking long oceanfront strolls, or surfing some of Europe's most memorable breaks.
There are too many places in Portugal that would make sense for a tourist location, they have stunning beaches and beautiful cities that make for some really pretty photos.
Existing Logos:
I sketched out what I wanted to do with the logo for Portugal and decided on a design. The limitations for the project turned out to be not that hard to get around, we had to make it inviting so that people would want to come, and we had to limit the design to a maximum of 4 colors. I think I only need a maximum of three, tops, more than likely I'll only need two for it to work.
Brand Guidelines:
I was then tasked to create a detailed brand guidelines document for the country’s tourism office logo. That other designers could follow the specifications of, when creating on-brand materials for the client.
